About Us

Opening a World of Learning Opportunities
for Students with Special Needs

Our goals are to provide student achievement progress and to create thriving teaching and learning environments where students can develop fundamental skills that will help them integrate and flourish within their communities. This is accomplished through our after school and summer enrichment programs designed for students of all ages who have multiple disabilities and/or significant support needs. Ms. Dean and the entire staff at Special LINKS are fully committed to creating a learning environment where students can participate in daily activities that allows them to develop fundamental skills, which will help them throughout their lives. We believe that all children must be safe in their environments, all children can learn, all children deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, all children have something to communicate, all children can be integrated into their communities, and all children are worthy of friendship.

At Special LINKS we use an innovative approach to provide a variety of programs for children and youth with disabilities so they can acquire knowledge, skills, and understanding of friendship, communication, socialization, the arts through hands-on learning and engagement, daily multi-sensory physical activities and day-to-day life skills. We not only foster an atmosphere of high achievement, but also of respect and compassion toward others. Our programs are based on an emphasis that everyone can succeed and within each program is a design for the individual needs of each child. We also welcome parents, guardians, typical developing peers and community volunteers to participate in our daily activities such as cooking class, community trips, indoor/outdoor sports and classroom activities.
